APPLE WATCH SERIES 5: ALWAYS-ON DISPLAY WITH 1HZ TECHNOLOGY, OPTIONAL TITANIUM AND CERAMIC

At the launch event of the iPhone 11 trio on the morning of September 11 (Vietnam time), besides the three upgraded iPhone models as well as the new 10.2-inch iPad series, Apple also released the fifth-generation Apple Watch with quite a number of notable improvements.

In terms of design, Apple Watch Series 5 does not have any significant changes in appearance compared to its predecessor Series 4. Users will still have two options of the face size of 40mm and 44mm, the screen resolution remains the same with the soft rounded edges. The Digital Crown button is still located on the right edge and incorporates ECG ECG measurement.

Of course, the brightest feature on the Apple Watch Series 5 comes from the Always-On display. With this feature, the device’s screen will always be lit with a black background and the clock will always be displayed, allowing users to see the time at any time.

without having to move your wrist to activate the screen. Moreover, in this state, the scanning frequency of the screen will be reduced to only 1Hz which helps to save more energy. It’s unclear at this time whether this feature requires any special hardware, otherwise Apple could soon release a watchOS update with this new feature for older devices.

Despite having a bright display, Apple is still committed to the battery life of Apple Watch Series 5 up to 18 hours as its predecessor. Besides the new screen feature, Apple has also added new color options for the titanium version and a new ceramic Apple Watch for the Series 5. The option was previously available in Series 3 but was discontinued on Series 4 by Apple.

In addition, The Apple Watch Series 5 also has a built-in compass and allows emergency global calls for the version with a mobile network, even without the iPhone. The updated WatchOS 6 operating system promises to bring many other new features to the device, for example, the Cycle Tracking application that allows menstrual tracking for women, Noise app that warns how loud the sounds in noisy environments affect health, or Activity Trends helps track daily physical activity. The data will be synchronized with the Health app on iPhone, so users can easily know their cycles. Health monitoring features and exercise mode on Series 4 have also been added to Series 5.

The Apple Watch Series 5 will be available starting at $399 for the GPS version. The LTE-enabled version will cost more than $ 499. Pre-orders are available from the Apple Store today and will ship on September 20.
